2010 Ela Family Farms Fruit CSA Share- $200 for 80 lbs. of certified Organic Fruit.
Cresset Community Farm offers a Western Slope Fruit Share. Ela Family Farms in Hotchkiss, Colorado, will provide approximately 80 pounds of organic fruit over the summer season for $200. The fruit will be delivered with the vegetables. The amounts and dates are approximate depending on weather and harvest conditions.
Because of space limitations, we need to limit the number of fruit shares sold to 100, so don't delay in getting your enrollment form and deposit in to Lynnet. We will be offering boxes of fruit on a weekly basis for preserving. We will let you know when these will be available as we get into the season. Ela Family Farms looks forward to sharing the best of our harvest throughout our fruit season. Not only will you get to enjoy the fruits as they are coming off our trees, but you will learn the staggered harvest dates for each variety of fruit. Because you are buying directly from the grower, we can let the fruit ripen on the tree like it should and get it right to you!
As you know, Mother Nature is ultimately in charge. If we have a crop loss or shortage, we will substitute the retail value of the fruit with some of our fruit products. You will not be disappointed if we have to add in a jam, applesauce, dried fruit or cider if we have a short week. We are stepping out on a limb and offering the frost sensitive cherries this year, so come April and May, send warm thoughts our way! Oct 25 A 20-pound box of Braeburn or Fuji apples. It is nice how nature works in that Braeburn and Fuji apples are the last apples harvested and they are the best storage apples. When kept cold, they can be enjoyed into the New Year. Eat local longer!
Please Note: Varieties and quantities are subject to change due to availability, but CSA members will get Ela Family Farms’ organic fruit products equal to the dollar amount agreed upon in this proposal. If cherries become available, we will notify you.
